Japanese Intermediate Course
Welcome to our Japanese Intermediate Course at Learn Japanese London! This course is designed for those who already have some knowledge of Japanese and want to improve their skills to a more advanced level. In this course, you will learn how to express your opinions, discuss different topics, and communicate more effectively in Japanese.
Our course is divided into three modules, each one focusing on a different aspect of the language. We use the Minna no Nihongo course book (Shokyu 1 and 2) and the Basic Kanji Book 500 Vol.1, along with other material to support your learning. Our experienced tutors will guide you through the modules and provide you with personalized feedback to help you achieve your goals.

Intermediate Level Japanese
In this module, we will build on the foundation established in the beginner course, and cover more advanced grammar and vocabulary. You will learn how to talk about your preferences using adjectives, accept and reject invitations, and order food and drinks at restaurants. We will also focus on the te-form, ta-form, and nai-form, which are crucial to understanding intermediate-level Japanese.
Our experienced tutors will provide a range of interactive activities, including role-playing exercises, reading exercises, and writing exercises, to help you develop your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Japanese Lower Intermediate – 6 weeks course
In this module, we will build on the foundation established in the beginner and improver course, and cover more advanced grammar and vocabulary. You will learn te-form and nai-form, which are crucial to understanding intermediate-level Japanese. You will be able to ask for permission, express prohibition and obligation, and offer things in a polite manner.
Japanese Intermediate – 6 weeks course
We will continue with more te-form structures, dictionary form, and ta-form which enable you to talk about your life experiences and hobbies in a complex manner. You will reach a level where you can express yourself confidently. You will also learn 20 kanjis, and enjoy tips for cultural awareness.
Japanese Upper Intermediate – 6 weeks course
In this module, you will learn how to express opinions and feelings, make comments, and conditionals (if). You will also learn and practice informal forms of speech and improve your understanding of the social status quo in Japan.
Japanese Intermediate Book
The course book for this module is “Minna no Nihongo (Shokyu 1),” a popular Japanese language textbook for intermediate students. We will also use “Minna no Nihongo 1 Translation & Grammatical Notes” to provide additional support for our students. In addition, we will use the “Basic Kanji Book 500 Vol.1” to help you learn 30 basic Kanji characters.
Learn Intermediate Japanese
This module is designed to help you use Japanese language in a practical way. We will cover various topics such as calling a taxi or using public transportation, doctor visits and illnesses, hobbies, experiences, family and traditions, and tips for cultural awareness. You will learn how to express your likes and dislikes and talk about your experiences.
Our tutors will provide a range of activities, including reading comprehension exercises, listening exercises, and role-playing exercises, to help you practice your language skills.

We will teach you 20 additional Kanji characters in this module, helping you to improve your reading and writing skills.
In addition to these six modules, we will provide a certificate of completion to our students who successfully complete the course. We will also offer advice on further learning opportunities to help you continue your language learning journey.
